Laura has made commercial short films for several clients, having filmed the BBC, for the Forestry Commission, Vox Motus Theatre Company and more.
Meet The Makers – Camera, Director, Editor. Laura created around 20 short films for the Scottish arts charity Craft Scotland. Many of these were short documentaries on leading Scottish craft makers, such as goldsmiths, cabinetmakers, ceramicists and glass makers.
Lizzie Farey, Meet the Maker (2012) – shot on location in renowned fibre artist Lizzie Farey’s studio and willow field in Galloway, this film provided a look at the life of a willow weaver, and her personal reasons for making her beautiful craft works.
Angus Ross, Meet The Maker (2012) – filmed in beautiful rural Aberfeldy in the large studio and private woodland of master furniture maker Angus Ross, this short film examines his practice and drive to create functional art.
Amanda Simmons, Meet the Maker (2013) – Amanda Simmons invited us to the studio she shares with a family of swallows to look at the processes behind her incredible glass works.
Grant McCaig, Meet the Maker (2013) – we joined master goldsmith Grant McCaig in the forge of Edinburgh College of Art to discover more about what drives him to make, and what attracts him to his new practice of fusing iron, precious metals and ceramics.
Adopting Monuments (documentary) – Editor/Camera. Laura was editor, co-camera operator and carried out sound recording on this short film directed by Andrew Tibbs, co-filmed by Edda Kjarval, and made by 3Akt Productions.
