For the last four years I have worked full-time for a national craft charity, creating and marketing digital content to promote the work of Scotland’s craft makers.
The sun has set on that career, as Friday was my last day with the organisation. It was a big decision, and one I made back in the summer. This year has been personally devastating, and life changing, and has made me stop and think about everything. As much as I liked my job and what I did there, it was clear that it wasn’t what I really wanted to, or had to, do.
So, now, I move to creative writing full-time, and freelancing/working part-time. It’s going to be a tough journey, and I don’t know how long it will last, but I feel light, and free, and ready for it. Tomorrow, I begin.
Today I’m going to enjoy the last of the summer sunshine.
